NaBITA 2014 Whitepaper Coverage

The National Behavioral Intervention Team Association (NaBITA) recently released the white paper, Threat Assessment in the Campus Setting, introducing the first substantial update to the threat assessment tool released by NaBITA in 2009 as a practical model for early intervention and prevention of active shootings on campus.

NaBITA, a nonprofit organization committed to campus safety, advocates a proactive approach of behavioral intervention to prevent campus violence in the post-Virginia Tech era.

“Reaction is the most common mode for campuses to default to, in part because proactive prevention seems less tangible, and certainly less empirically provable,” said Brett A. Sokolow.
