Tufts University disputes feds' noncompliance claim
“(In effect), Tufts
general counsel said, ‘I don’t want the message to go out that this campus is
not in compliance with the law. We worked very hard to be,’ ” Sokolow said, “so
I think it’s a matter of principal for them.”

Aggressive Push on Sex Assault
Brett A. Sokolow, president of the Association of Title
IX Administrators, praised this approach and the report for endorsing a model
he said is increasingly gaining acceptance in the field of sexual assault
prevention.
“It’s potentially transformative for the field” of sexual
assault prevention, he said.

Investigation: 285 Days of Fear and Waiting
Brett Sokolow, president of National Center for Higher
Education Risk Management, a law consultancy contracted to achieve Title IX

Suicide Suit Involving Princeton Is 'Bellwether,' according to Brett Sokolow in The Wall Street Journal
"This [case] is going to be a bellwether for all
colleges and universities," said Brett Sokolow, an attorney with the
National Center for Higher Education Risk Management, a consultancy group for
higher-education institutions.
Many past suicide-related cases against schools, Mr. Sokolow
said, have been wrongful-death lawsuits from families of students who took
their lives on campus. The Princeton case is unusual, he said, "because
the student is not dead…this is an action where the student says his rights
were violated."

The Chronicle of Higher Education quotes Brett Sokolow and references ATIXA Model Policy
Promise Unfulfilled?
Resolution agreements often create more confusion than
clarity for other colleges trying to understand their obligations under Title
IX, says Brett A. Sokolow, chief executive of the National Center for Higher
Education Risk Management, a consulting group and law firm. Federal officials
"wait until the college screws up, they write a letter, they call it a
‘blueprint,’ and nobody knows what they are supposed to do," he says.
So they turn to him—and many other consultants who, offering
training sessions and webinars, profess to have the answers. Mr. Sokolow’s Association of Title IX Administrators, for
instance, offers a free sexual-misconduct model policy.
"This policy has helped hundreds of campuses as they
strive to comply with Title IX … ," the website states. "Let it help
yours."
